I think after this past Raw, Smackdown needing changes. I loved this past Raw, adored it, admired every aspect of the show. Here is the thing, there were a select amount of people needed to make it so amazing. Now, those same guys are looking awful, rather foolish on Smackdown, in which has been alright, but mainly a sleeper. Being in lackluster matches is not what boosts a feud. Smackdown needs legitimacy, & is looking more like a Main Event or Saturday Morning Slam at this point. I believe if Raw kept the superstars they had on Monday on their roster, & Smackdown utilized superstars who don't get much, & legitimized the United States Title feud/perhaps IC title feud, it would be fine. Sure, allow every champion to go on Raw, but let Smackdown have it known that the Heavyweight Title & Intercontinental Title (Or US Title, in which I prefer for some star power on Smackdown, meaning Ambrose) belong to the blue brand. On Smackdown at one point, they had a feud between Fandango, Barrett, & Miz going & it opened up the show, an amazing segment. With the following roster changes, I believe Smackdown & other superstars can be brought back into the spotlight.
What Smackdown should do:
The spoilers are out, & I will be reading down the list & substituting each & everything I see.
Prior to the editing, I want to bullet how to give others spotlight who right now aren't getting it.
- Have Hawkins/Ryder form a Tag Team
- Allow Cody Rhodes (A Heel with nothing) to feud with faces who get nothing (Riley, the underdog Bo Dallas etc.) & perhaps let it be a TV feud until they feel they are ready for a PPV. Let Cody Rhodes v Bo Dallas's feud lead to the pre-show of MITB or something.
- After Miz is out of the IC title picture, let's go overboard & have him reform The Awesome Truth.
- Have Ryback win the Smackdown MITB & win feuds after he wins the briefcase to hype him up prior to his cash-in.
- Sheamus will be in the WWE Raw MITB ladder match.. I feel it.. So I don't have anything for him yet.
1.) Daniel Bryan/Orton segment opening up the show addressing the stopping of Bryan's match with Orton as well as continuing the feud with Orton, great, keep it.
2.) Curtis Axel vs Wade Barrett in the IC title rematch with Miz on commentary. NOPE. Scratch it, let this be on Main Event, it would boost ratings & not make educated fans realize that this is straight filler. INSTEAD, have Wade Barrett enter & complain that Axel didn't actually beat him, & demands a rematch. Have Miz enter & tell Barrett that it won't be happening, as he will be next in line for Axel's title. Have a little argument lead into a match between the two. Miz v Barrett: Winner: Miz. Have Curtis Axel enter after the match & attack Miz with his finishing maneuver in revenge of what Miz did to him last week on Smackdown.
3.) Sheamus v Cody Rhodes .. NOPE. Scratch it.
INSTEAD: Allow Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns to enter & claim that there is no tag team that has been able to defeat them, therefore, they will be working on even more, and that is qualifying for a MITB match.
Have the USO's, Primo & Epico, Prime Time Players, Brodus Clay/Tensai, & Zack Ryder/Hawkins (To Tease a new tag team) all come out from the back seeming angry with The USO's (as they deserve the next push) claim that every tag team will be trying their hardest to grab those titles, have your little MITB match, but after MITB, The USO's will grab the titles. Now start an argument between every tag team, which will make The Shield laugh as they believe they are a perfect Tag Team, & leave, then cut to commercial.
4.)AJ Lee defeats Natalya, backstage segment afterwards of Aksana making fun of Kaitlyn over her loss. NOPE. Stop, too stupid.
INSTEAD: Simply have AJ defeat Natalya, & Kaitlyn run out again & attack AJ.. AGAIN. Have Natalya & Layla come & try to restrain Kaitlyn, but have Kaitlyn hit Natalya, leaving Layla in shock, & leave.
5.) Alberto Del Rio v Chris Jericho leading to DQ due to Ziggler/Ricardo interference. Stop. This doesn't boost last Monday's incident, it completely degrades it.
INSTEAD: Have Dolph Ziggler utilize his mic first, allow him to address what he thinks of Del Rio. Mention that Del Rio says Ziggler cowardly cashed-in on him, but mention that Del Rio once did the same. Let Ziggler mention that Del Rio was once a coward & what not. Let him address that he beat Ziggler when he wasn't at his best, & demand a rematch. Have Del Rio appear via titantron & cut a promo on what he has to say next about Ziggler. Allow Del Rio to use this brutalizing assault at Payback in his favor during this time. Have Del Rio mention Ziggler is just a little pretty boy, & perhaps claim AJ is the man in this relationship as she appears to be doing all the fighting as of late. Then have Del Rio say he doesn't have anymore time for Dolph, as he has a match with Jericho.
Then do Alberto Del Rio v Chris Jericho ending with Dolph Ziggler attacking Del Rio as he has Jericho in an arm-bar. Let Del Rio try to scramble & Langston throw him back in the ring, leading to Dolph hitting him with a Zig Zag.
6.) Now, allow some time for all the tag teams to approach Teddy Long, demanding they become next in line for the titles. Have Teddy regain order, & say we will start fresh.. We will see who deserves it as the weeks go on.. Let's go now with some tag team action next, making a match between The USO's & Primo & Epico. (USO's v Prime Time is stale now.)
The USO's v Primo/Epico: Winner: USO's
7.) Christian v Drew McIntyre with Christian cutting a promo on returning post-match & The Shield attacking. Ok. But now, allow Dean Ambrose to get on the mic, claiming that the people shouldn't be caring about Christian's return as he is old & washed-up. They should be talking about the U.S champion as he will be the best U.S Champion of all time, to hint a feud between him & Christian.
8.) Daniel Bryan v Randy Orton again ending in ring-out. STOP.
Prior to the ending of the show, they should have had Bryan arguing with Orton backstage, as Bryan claims he is demanding a match tonight to show he is not hurt, & isn't a weak link. Orton says he already did enough damage to Bryan, there is no need for more to be inflicted. Bryan says he will demand a match right now, & doesn't care who it is against. Now, to boost Cesaro's new gimmick, allow Zeb & Cesaro to approach Bryan. With Zeb claiming that Bryan made a mistake claiming he is willing to fight anyone. His new man, a real american, will be making a name for himself, & defeating you in the main event of Smackdown will only start it up. Bryan agrees to this match.
Daniel Bryan v Antonio Cesaro w/Zeb Colter: Winner: Bryan via No Lock. Bryan looks strong, Cesaro doesn't look weak, as he is only starting from scratch here, and being in the main event against a near-future main-eventer helps a lot.
