While heels such as Alberto Del Rio & Jack Swagger may not come out to a pop, they come out to no reaction.
Of course, Ryback doesn't get much of a reaction either, but there is a huge difference.
Everything done by a heel such as Alberto Del Rio is viewed as none other than a channel changer, unless he is against an opponent who draws viewers such as Cena (Main Event Gained 585,000 viewers on Champions Night On Raw) & against Dolph Ziggler (Gained 275,000+ on last weeks Raw.)
As much as people will say Ryback is a channel changer, they don't admit the fact they Ryback is super interesting to watch & they keep the channel on.
Unless Ryback is facing Khali or someone silly like him, Ryback usually draws. While facing The Miz, someone who isn't the best talent in the company, over 100,000 viewers tuned in to watch it.
Ryback is the only heel who gets the actual 'BOOS' & keeps people watching. Nobody knows what ever is going to happen next with Ryback, so they watch him.
In Chris Jericho's interview after Money In The Bank that was addressing Fozzy, he mentioned Ryback is a great heel right now, one of the only ones that actually gets "boos." He defeated me by roll up & that is what gets the crowd going.
Ryback does things as a heel that a guy like him usually doesn't do.
A big man defeating a smaller wrestler who is also a top face by roll up is a true heel action that got him heat. When he came out at Money In The Bank, you see the people in the crowd blowing him off, despite a little reaction.
Ryback running away from matches previously was a huge heel action that people booed. People booed a lot once he asked for the match to be stopped against The Miz.
People like to see him get beat up, and on top of that, he has a little following as well.
I like the direction WWE is going with Ryback, & I hope it remains. He defines "bad guy."
